Yoono InMag

Yoono InMag is a new reader that visualises RSS feeds in magazine style layout.

Yoono provides desktop, browser and mobile apps that help visualise and manage all your social networks. Its new(s) product, Yoono InMag, is extremely simple.

Story layouts within sources are varied, well done and support thumbnails, embedded video, headlines and small amounts of mined text.

There’s no way to read stories within InMag. Instead, clicking a story links out to the story’s page on its source publication’s site.

Sharing options are easy and standard and, for now, there are no personalisation options, including for choosing sources.

The Yoono InMag about page says: ”Currently, InMag is only available for a set of preselected sources: Google News, Digg, Reddit and HackerNews. We plan on adding support for your Facebook and Twitter feeds very soon!”

Magazineifying RSS feeds and other less attractive data streams – think all the social networks, blogs, even news sites – is becoming a popular practice.

This is reflective of online trends generally: data (content) gets produced in huge quantities by lots of people, that data gets aggregated to make it easier to find, then graphical visualisations become more attractive, functional, and ubiquitous to extend appeal and value from innovators and early adopters (geeks) to the early majority, late majority and laggards (everyone else).
